87 Year old in Queue for Rakhi’s Swayamvar

For those of you who don’t know Rakhi Sawant is a charismatic, sizzling, glamorous and a bold Indian TV star and Bollywood icon, better known as India’s number one item girl. She has been trying hard to break her outspoken image and trying to project herself as a shy, coy, subtle and a perfect bride to be on the reality show Rakhi Ka Swayamvar. The show has 16 contestants from different walks of life, wooing Rakhi at the renowned Fateh Garh Palace at Udaipur. These contestants would put through challenges testing their physical, character, personality, talent and fitness their compatibility with the ‘item girl’. To add to the list is Delhi’s 87 years old, Dr. R K Joshi who is waiting inline for his chance as well!
Just two days back a news channel showed coverage with Dr. R.K.Joshi saying that he was rather saddened by the fact that he did not get a chance to participate in the ‘Swayamvar’, as he learnt about it rather late. But he did send her a marriage proposal in the form of a letter, and has even dedicated his book of 52 poems in her name. The poems consist of phrases, love quotes, songs and poems. He is not loosing hope, as he strongly feels that once Rakhi meets him, she would surely like to marry him. His whole family is supportive of his decision saying they would only be too glad to see their father’s happiness. He has been so excited with each contestant getting eliminated as he feels his chance of getting to the number one position is closer. His only request to Rakhi is, before finally choosing one of the contestants, do give him a chance by meeting him!
With an age where you like a quiet, serene life with your loved ones, how can someone think of remarrying? Is he trying to gain publicity or is he really a die-hard fan of Rakhi? Would she like to meet him? What would she say in reply to his letter? He also claims that what he can give Rakhi no one can. But he sure was relentless and certain of his decision to marry Rakhi! That’s the way to go, and like they say, “All things come to those who wait”, so you never know, maybe he gets what is has been waiting for!
One does wonder that how can a girl go in for such a kind of reality show, is it a publicity stunt, entertainment show is it really a girls life, who is looking for a real life partner? Will she be able to decide, within a few meetings with the contestants, who her life partner would be? Though she says that through this show she wishes to show the world her real self, but has she really changed over night for this show? She does say she’s been misinterpreted, and desires a loving husband, family and a caring mother in law, but is this the way of seeking a life partner.? Would the blokes really be seeking a life partner in Rakhi or simply wanting some publicity! Though the whole concept is a little bizarre for us, but Rakhi always does leave her fans aghast.
