I purchased BSNL ZTE EV-DO Card which can carry speed up to 2.4Mbps but now BSNL is selling Micromax EV-DO Card which uses SIM card and it can deliver speed upto 3.1Mbps. I am staying in chennai. I asked with local exchange but they have no Idea about any exchange of old EV-DO card with new Micromax card. So, can you tell me where do i can exchange my ZTE EV-DO Card with MicroMaxx EV-DO in chennai or to whom shall I contact in chennai

my current rate is about 100kbps, top speed in this session is 500 kbps, sometimes top speed even goes up to 900+ kbps but usually the average speed is around 200-300 kbps only...

the speed fluctuates a lot, you can see that in the graphics pane, just double click on the display pane of your evdo application...

Thank u for ur suggestion. I checked with BSNL and they said its EVDO card only.
What they are saying that you must not see the connection speed on "Control panel-Network and Sharing centre" its nothing. You have to check the speed on ZTE EVDO application panel. They changed some settings even though I am not getting above 412kbps.

Can u please check with ur EVDO device and tell me what speed you are getting on ur "Network and sharing centre" of ur system? I am getting only 115.2Kbps on my Network and Sharing centre, where as I am getting sometimes up to 534Kbps on ZTE EVDO application frame as ""Max rate:562.0(Kbps)...

Waiting egarly for ur reply

hi nishant,
i guess the best thing to do would be to take the device to your local bsnl office and get it checked, they will be able to tell you if its a evdo or nic.

I purchased BSNL EVDO CARD today. I am bit confused with my EV-DO card coz when I check speed of connection on ZTE application dashboard it shows 208.0(kbps) and when I use to check speed on "Network and Sharing centre" there it shows 144kbps. Though my house is very near to BSNL EVDO tower....within 1 km.

So, do my device is EV-DO Card or BSNL NIC Card? my device model no. is AC8700.

Kindly reply me do I have EVDO data CArd or Network Interface Card(NIC) though I paid Rs. 3640/-. By mistake BSNL staff might have given NIC.(It might have happened).. So suggest me.... once again its ZTE AC8700.
