One more digital camera from the Samsung stables is NV100HD. A very high definition digital camera, this model is a prime example of Korean innovation. A very compact model this will easily fit into any trouser pocket without revealing a bulge. This camera unlike its predecessor comes with a touch screen. A model that will appeal to any techno geek, this comes with a wide range of features. This 14.7 mega pixel camera comes in a size of 95*60*20 mm, which is amazing considering its small size. The touch screen version is 2.0 and is quite comfortable to work with. All the functions are handled by the touch screen with very bare minimum functions left to the hard buttons. The camera comes in four colors and has a smart HD video function too.
Some good points:
- Great looks, very attractive design in an equally presentable four different colors.
- The matte finish enhances the effects.
- A very good 3-inch touch screen that is not only smart but very easy to use as well. The clarity is very good at 460,000 pixel strength.
- Additional features like face detection, smile detection and blink detection features appeal to the tech savvy customer.
- Very aesthetically button functions, though kept to a minimum.
- A very good wide angle 3.6 zoom, though the zoom is not spectacular but understandable considering the compactness of the camera.
- A smart auto focus that gives image stability even on shaking conditions.
Some bad points:
- The camera advertises itself as a very definition camera in a very small size. The size of the camera is indeed very small but the 14.7 mega pixel strength does not bring the desired results for pixel strength of this size. Color clarity should be improved.
- Zoom is not satisfactory but understandable considering the size of this model.
- Very bad noise reduction system.
- HD movies mode not perfect as pictures shake when taken during movement.
- The touch screen can be made more user friendly.
In summary, a good camera that will impress the techno geeks definitely but the minor issues have to be sorted out to have a bigger appeal to the market.
