Earthquake in India

Blogging live from Ranchi, just felt very slight earthquake shake in Ranchi (Harmu housing colony). I felt the sofa shake but ignored it, and after a second or two felt it shake again and i asked my father if he was moving his leg, but he said he felt it too, and we quickly jumped out and moved out of home… i managed to make a tweet about it. 6 : 15 PM to 6 : 17 PM (18/9/2011) was the time when we felt the earthquake shake. Right now it is 6 : 30+ and we are back in the house. Watching news now and staying alert in case we have to rush out again…

Still nothing about it on Google Trends India, i guess people have just started to realize it.

India Wins – India Vs Bangladesh Opening Match February 19 2011 cricket World Cup

So, the much awaited cricket world cup 2011 starts. India Vs. Bangladesh, a match that India should have won as easily as India did. Nothing could have been better than to watch the Prince of Delhi bat throughout the innings, something he promised earlier and finally proved it on the field. 175 runs he scored, though missed out in breaking the all time high of an Indian batsman in world cup, 183 scored by Saurav Ganguly.

Ayodhya Verdict Latest News

Ayodhya, popularly known as the Ram Janm Bhumi, faced a long fought land dispute which ended today. The Allahabad high court, Lucknow bench, gave its decision just now and the long standing 60+ years old case got its verdict finally. The decision is pretty much straight forward, the land will be divided in 3 ways and the division will start in 3 months time. One third of the land will be given to Ram Lalla, one third to the Sunni WAQF and the one third to Nirmohi Akhara.

German Bakery Bomb Blast in Pune

Over 32 injured and 8 people died in a German bakery blast near the Jewish place of worship in Pune. Police is apparently guessing that it might be a bomb blast, an unattended bad had exploded because someone was trying to open it up. Authorities have not confirmed any terrorist hand in it yet.

Watch Solar Eclipse in India 15 January 2010 – Live Online

It’s the 15^th of January 2010, a day I was looking forward to for some time because today we have a solar eclipse here in India, and am taking a video of it from Ranchi, Jharkhand. From the morning itself I was excited about it, went to my roof with my mobile camera and shot a few videos. Indian Oil Depot Jaipur Still on Fire

36 hours has passed so far but the Indian oil depot in Jaipur is still on fire. The fire on tankers are slowly dying away, and at this speed it can take another 36 hours to completely end. This is not just a loss of big time fuel, but many lives are also claimed by the fire. So far 11 people have died in the fire and the number of the injured ones are more than 150. The fire started as a result of the pipeline leakage, and 50 kilo liters of diesel got exposed and caught fire.

Gagandeep Singh shot dead in Meerut

Left arm spinner, cricketer Gagandeep Singh was shot dead accidentally by someone unknown on Friday in Meerut. The 18 year old guy was the part of the under 19 squad of Indian cricket team. Gagandeep went to eat kebab in a shop where some customers and the shopkeeper went into a fight. Some accidental bullet hit him, which killed Gagandeep Singh.

Haryana based social activist Anand Prakash Sharma, a 45 year old guy, basically a writer turned into a politician, is giving the election commission a hard time by asking, “condom” as his election symbol. The election commission on their part however tries to avoid controversies and is asking Sharma to opt in for any other symbol.

Kurnool Flood – Floods in Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka saw some of the most devastating floods and rains in the last few days, which is still going on. At the moment, army, navy and the air force is helping out the affected people of the southern states. The Kurnool and Mehboobnagar districts of the state of Andhra Pradesh are the worst hit where hundreds and thousands of people are affected by the heavy rains and the flooding of rivers like Krishna and Tungbhadra.
