German Bakery Bomb Blast in Pune

Over 32 injured and 8 people died in a German bakery blast near the Jewish place of worship in Pune. Police is apparently guessing that it might be a bomb blast, an unattended bad had exploded because someone was trying to open it up. Authorities have not confirmed any terrorist hand in it yet.

It’s the 15th of January 2010, a day I was looking forward to for some time because today we have a solar eclipse here in India, and am taking a video of it from Ranchi, Jharkhand. From the morning itself I was excited about it, went to my roof with my mobile camera and shot a few videos. Since then, am here on my laptop trying to figure out windows movie maker and finally uploading the video on the Youtube.

Indian Oil Depot Jaipur Still on Fire

36 hours has passed so far but the Indian oil depot in Jaipur is still on fire. The fire on tankers are slowly dying away, and at this speed it can take another 36 hours to completely end. This is not just a loss of big time fuel, but many lives are also claimed by the fire. So far 11 people have died in the fire and the number of the injured ones are more than 150. The fire started as a result of the pipeline leakage, and 50 kilo liters of diesel got exposed and caught fire.

Gagandeep Singh shot dead in Meerut

Left arm spinner, cricketer Gagandeep Singh was shot dead accidentally by someone unknown on Friday in Meerut. The 18 year old guy was the part of the under 19 squad of Indian cricket team. Gagandeep went to eat kebab in a shop where some customers and the shopkeeper went into a fight. Some accidental bullet hit him, which killed Gagandeep Singh.

Haryana Candidate wants Condom as Election Symbol

Haryana based social activist Anand Prakash Sharma, a 45 year old guy, basically a writer turned into a politician, is giving the election commission a hard time by asking, “condom” as his election symbol. The election commission on their part however tries to avoid controversies and is asking Sharma to opt in for any other symbol.

At the moment, army, navy and the air force is helping out the affected people of the southern states. Earthquake in various parts of India – Kolkata – West Bengal – Assam

A high magnitude earthquake was felt in the eastern Indian states like Assam, west Bengal etc. The center of the earthquake was Bhutan where it was measured 6.3 on the Richter scale. The quake happened 10kms deep and countries like Bhutan and Tibet are also hit. First quake was felt just a few hours before, at about 2:23 PM in the afternoon. Mild tremors were reported in some parts of Kolkata.
