After losing to Pakistan, that is, losing against Pakistan for the first time in any ICC events, India’s champions trophy hopes took a serious blow. This India vs. Australia match of 28th September 2009 will be a do or go back home match for India. Apparently, India has good experiences of playing a few matches and then going back in the 50 – 50 version of the ICC events. Not many years back India, under the captaincy of Rahul dravid and super controversial coach Greg Chappell came back home after playing 3, losing 2, matches in the last world cup.
Dhoni is currently leading the losing team India and if it loses today then Dhoni’s captaincy will take a serious blow. The Indian media and the viewers do not have any patience to keep cheering losing captains and it was clear from the losing India vs. Pakistan match. Possibly for the first time I have seen Dhoni getting basing so hard in the media. Dhoni’s career as a captain has seen many heights and if he manages a win against Australia today then things can easily turn back to good. And its not just Dhoni even the current coach will be feeling the heat, after all his sex advice that hit the media all around will get more problems for Gary Kirsten.
Australia is also not anymore the same team as it used to be, however that being said India’s batting is bothering a lot. And since Dhoni is more bothered to bring in more bowlers in the team, chances of another batting failure is possible. Anyways cricket is a game of chances and hope India wins today and manages to stay in the tournament else the entire tournament will be a failure if India exits in the first round.
Its going to be a very exciting series as only Champions will be there..I was waiting desperately for the series to began
