The big match of the 2011 world cup is about to start in the next few hours. Ahead of the semi finals of this 2011 world cup, I thought to compile this article. Every India vs. Pakistan match is huge; it is the rivalry between these two nations that makes this completion so important. But this match is going to be even more intense than a regular India vs. Pakistan match is, because firstly it is the semi-final and a win here will provide with the tickets to the finals and most importantly, both teams are in excellent form. India has reached the semi-finals after beating the defending champion Australia and Pakistan has flattened West Indies in the quarterfinals.

Whatever happens from here, one thing that is certain now is that the world cup will remain in the Indian sub continent. Sri Lanka has already beaten New Zealand in the semi finals and is now in the finals of the 2011 cricket world cup. All the strong cricketing teams from outside of the sub-content have been beaten by the sub-continent teams. India beat Australia, Pakistan beat West Indies and Sri Lanka beat England and New Zealand. So overall, this world cup has been excellent for the Indian sub content teams so far. And finally, they are going to play each other now and that will determine which one of these are truly the best.

Is the India vs. Pakistan 2011 world cup semi finals fixed?

If there can be anything worse than an Indian defeat in such a power packed match is the issue of match fixing. The Pakistani home minister has already warned their team against match fixing, he spoke to the media saying that the player’s phone calls are being tapped and that he has spies who are making sure that the players are not in contact with some match fixing bookie. This will perhaps affect the morals of the Pakistani players but given their past records, who can blame the minister for taking such preventive measures.

So, who will win?

The end of the day will answer this question any way, but here are a few reasons why I believe this match will be won by India.

1) Home advantage – India has home advantage, India is playing this match in their own ground and should their fore have crowd support and more experience of how the pitch is going to play.

2) Past records – India has never lost a match against Pakistan in the world cup. India wins where it matters.

3) Dhoni factor – Dhoni has lost his personal batting form for quite some time, but his captaincy is getting better.

4) Balanced team – The Indian team is definitely stronger on paper, and then there is Sachin Tendulkar.

Let’s hope to watch a clean match of cricket; I have made arrangements for crackers already.
