Shashi Tharoor on Twitter – Economy Class is now Cattle Class

Shashi Tharoor is pretty successful in hitting the headlines on a consistent basis, the last one was when he stayed in a 5 star hotel for a prolonged time, and now this time, out of nowhere he has pulled up another sensational news and is now again in the headlines for the very wrong reasons. He had quoted the economic class of the airlines as the “cattle class” which is being remarked by congress as, “absolutely insensitive”. In replying to a question on twitter Shashi Tharoor tweeted, “cattle class out of solidarity with all our holy cows”.
The micro blogging platform of Twitter had seen many controversies, people have got sued over twitter, employees have lost jobs etc. but this is the first time a minister (Minister of State for External Affairs) Shashi Tharoor, has insulted the economy class, which is widely used in India. Congress has clearly mentioned that the party dose not buy this “cattle class” expression. So far no disciplinary action has been taken against Shashi Tharoor.
The tweet was really high on humor but apparently congress party did not laughed. This little tweet of Shashi Tharoor has rather taken a serious turn, especially because of the mention of, “holy cows”. It will be interesting to find out who the holy cow really is. It can be “Rahul Gandhi” because he has been making quite a few public transport travels.
On Shashi Tharoor’s defense, one thing that can be said is that the guy who asked the question has himself mentioned the term, “cattle class” which means the minister just replied. But the big question is, can the congress handle the humor?
