Tata Nano Car – The Car of Common Man – Finally Delivered

Common man in India is tired and fed up by traveling in the crowded buses, locals and trains, traveling long distances on bikes and cycles. They have seen few rich people traveling in cars. It was like a distant dream for many to own a car. Those who make to it had to shed lot of hard earn savings to buy a car. The worth of the car can be well known for those eyes, for those children who ran after it on the roads. It’s a pioneer project of Mr. Ratan Tata to deliver to India a car, which can become the true car of common man.

‘Nano car’ the dream project of Ratan Tata, which is a revolution in the world of transport especially the car market not only in India but the world. The car was still out of the reach of the common man. The Indian market is filled up with many cars such as Maruti 800, Santro, Hyundai, Indica, Ambassadors, jeep etc. Luxurious cars such as Mercedes are also available. Tata Motors has taken a giant step in the Indian market by acquiring jaguar and land rover and thereby targeting the aristocrat crowd and also making Nano for the middle class.

The things are never too easy and there were huge troubles for the Tata group too. Tata motors have planned many things at Singur in West Bengal with many Ancillary units also coming up in the area. There was stiff resistance in West Bengal against the setting up of the plant, which leads to delay, and other problems but the company has shown tremendous skill by overcoming the problems and shifting the plant to Gujarat. Gujarat is industrial friendly state and will be quite helpful to the company in the long run.

Nano car has many features such as sitting capacity of 5 people and has near about same space as the Santro car. The structure is quite different such as engine at the back and luggage space in the front. There are three models of the car. Parts of the car are purchased from different parties such as bosch.

India is a great country to market car like nano, which has already gained much publicity and media attention. The demand for the car is huge as the demand is coming from many quarters such as individuals, companies etc. The reasons for booking it are many. Some want to book it as their own car, some want to gift it; some companies have also booked it for their employees.

Apart from all the acclaims there are some criticisms also attached with the car. It is said to create burden on the roads by increasing the huge number of vehicles. There is already huge number of vehicles plying on Indian roads and Nano will only worsen the situation. It will also lead to conspicuous consumption, as many people will purchase it just as a showpiece as it is cheap.

There is a huge market for two wheelers also in the country and there market will get affected with the coming of such a cheap car. Though it will also affect the market of existing car players such as Maruti Suzuki. It can prove as the trump card for the Tata motors.

After a long wait and watch situation, finally the first Nano car is coming up on this Friday. The first batch of cars will come from plant in Pantnagar. The company will deliver its first car to its first customer on Friday.

What is to be seen is how the car works in the real market. How it will fulfill the dreams and expectations of all people. A long question that remains, will it become and will it reach the common man and how much are the customers satisfied.
